Bicycle rental and routes Diever | Estate The Heezeberg

Active athletes can exercise to the max on and around Landgoed de Heezeberg. Diever and the surrounding area also offer everything a holidaymaker could wish for. The many hiking and cycling routes take you to heathlands, fishing places, pools, sand drifts, recreational lakes and beautiful historic dolmens. In between you can relax on one of the many terraces.

Renting bicycles

We now also offer guests of Landgoed de Heezeberg the opportunity to make use of our modern bicycles, which are directly available at the cottages. A total of 5 bicycles are available, 2 female and 3 male bikes. In the booking form you can reserve the bicycles, for which we charge 35 euro per week per bicycle. We recommend the Komoot App to discover beautiful cycling routes.

Of course it is also possible to rent bicycles at a bicycle specialist in the village:

Kleijberg Tweewielercentrum
Hoofdstraat 62, Diever
Tel.: +31 521 593085

You can rent here city bikes, hybrids, electric bikes, bicycle trailers, ATB mountain bikes, child seats and child bicycles, dog carts and even trailers.

Cycling route Drents Friese Wold

With 6,100 hectares, the Drents-Friese Wold National Park is the second largest forest area in The Netherlands. But the National Park is much more than just trees. Discover the National Park while cycling and enjoy the variety of this area. Bike from forest to heathland, from sand drift to small pond and marsh. This signposted cycle route leads to the following different parts of the Drents-Friese Wold: Berkenheuvel, bosgebied Boschoord, Doldersummerveld, Aekingerzand (Kale Duinen), Aekingerbroek and a number of villages including the Frisian village Appelscha.

Official MTB route Diever-Hoogersmilde

This heavy MTB route Diever runs through the National Park Drents-Friese Wold. The route is especially made for mountain bikers and you will find amazing singletracks. Although this is a fairly flat area, you will surprisingly discover a lot of difference in height on the route. In 2014 the route was adapted with long technical parts with steep climbs and descents. The route is pretty heavy. In combination with the connected route to Appelscha - the connection route is marked with black signs - you can speak of a pretty intensive challenge for advanced bikers. Occasionally the routes cross paths and bridle paths. This does not have to cause problems, but just keep it in mind. The signposted routes are good to ride by every mountain biker, though as a beginner, you might get off your bike once you reach one of the steep climbs.

Cycle route Dwingelderveld

The cycle route Dwingelderveld goes through the largest, wet heathland of Western Europe, where you also pass teahouse Anserdennen and through the village Dwingeloo. In Dwingeloo you will find great places to drink a cup of coffee or tea. Halfway along the route you will pass the Boslounge, an information point of Staatsbosbeheer (our National Public Body to strengthen the position of nature).
